Terms of Service

Language notice: These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are authored in Japanese as the authoritative language. Versions in English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Brazilian Portuguese, or other languages are reference translations provided for the convenience of readers; in case of any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails (Article 18).

Effective date: 2026-05-15 Last amended: 2026-05-15

Article 1 (Application)

  1. These Terms govern the conditions of use of the website "jpsalary.keydrop.net" (the "Site") and all related features and content (collectively, the "Service") between the operator (the "Operator") and all persons using the Service (the "User").
  2. By using the Service, the User is deemed to have accepted all provisions of these Terms. Persons who do not agree to the Terms may not use the Service.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. "Data" means the wage statistics, estimated salary figures, exchange rates, social-insurance cost estimates, age/industry/occupation/prefecture/visa-type aggregations, and all numerical, textual, and graphical content presented to the User on the Site.
  2. "Third-party services" means Google Analytics, Google AdSense, the Frankfurter API, jpcost.keydrop.net, jpvisa.keydrop.net, OECD, and any other functionality or services provided by entities or institutions other than the Operator.
  3. "Public institutions" means the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare; Statistics Bureau of Japan; e-Stat (the Portal Site of Official Statistics of Japan); OECD; and other governmental, intergovernmental, local-government, or public-statistical institutions.

Article 3 (Use)

  1. The Service is provided free of charge and does not require User registration.
  2. The User shall, at their own risk and expense, prepare the equipment, connectivity, and other resources necessary to use the Service.
  3. The Operator grants the User a non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable right to use the Service.

Article 4 (Fees)

The Service is provided free of charge. The Operator may, in the future, introduce paid features or plans, subject to separate terms.

Article 5 (Prohibited acts)

The User shall not engage in any of the following acts when using the Service:

  1. Acts violating laws, these Terms, or public order and morals;
  2. Acts infringing the rights or interests of the Operator, other Users, or third parties;
  3. Acts placing undue load on the Service's servers, networks, or systems (including automated crawling, scraping, or mass requests);
  4. Decompiling, reverse-engineering, copying, modifying, or redistributing the Service's source code, data, or functionality;
  5. Reselling or redistributing the Data obtained from the Service for commercial purposes;
  6. Disseminating false information through the Service or damaging the credit of the Service or the Operator;
  7. Bypassing or disabling the Service's security features (including cookie consent, CSP, and other access controls);
  8. Any other act that the Operator reasonably deems inappropriate.

Article 6 (Modification, suspension, or termination of the Service)

  1. The Operator may, without prior notice, modify the content, features, design, specifications, or terms of use of the Service.
  2. The Operator may, for system maintenance, incident response, changes to third-party services, or any other reason it deems necessary, suspend or terminate all or part of the Service without prior notice.
  3. The Operator is not liable for any damages incurred by the User or third parties due to such modification, suspension, or termination.

Article 7 (Nature of the Data and disclosure of independent processing)

  1. The Data is derived information that the Operator has obtained programmatically from e-Stat APIs, the Frankfurter API, OECD, jpcost.keydrop.net, and other publicly accessible data sources, and processed/aggregated/adjusted using the Operator's own logic (including filtering by age/gender/industry/occupation/prefecture/visa-type/company-size/education/tenure, weighted-average aggregation, fallback rules, quantile-based estimation, FX conversion, CPI-linked real-wage calculation, approximate reflection of social-insurance rates, and similar processing).
  2. The Data is not the official figures published by any public institution. The Data is provided as reference values only and cannot be used as a substitute or proxy for official statistics.
  3. The Data may contain errors, delays, omissions, or interpretive differences due to API responses at the time of retrieval, the Operator's aggregation logic, FX retrieval timing, approximations of social-insurance rates (Tokyo Kyokai Kenpo basis, etc.), fallback for cells with small sample sizes, accuracy limitations of quantile estimation, splice points between Reiwa-era and pre-Reiwa-era tables, and similar factors.
  4. The Operator makes no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, usefulness, fitness for a particular purpose, or consistency with official statistics of the Data.
  5. When using the Data, the User shall consult the primary sources of public institutions (the e-Stat official site, MHLW's published wage census materials, OECD official statistics, etc.) as necessary.

Article 8 (Disclaimer regarding calculation results, estimated percentiles, and estimated income)

  1. The estimated annual income, age-based earnings curves, gender pay gap, industry/occupation/prefecture/visa-type aggregations, percentile rankings, total cost of employment including social insurance, cost-of-living coverage, purchasing-power comparison, real-wage trends, international comparisons, and any other calculation results provided by the Service (the "Results") are reference values, approximations, or estimates computed by the Operator's own algorithms, and do not guarantee the User's actual income, living standard, market value in recruitment, employer cost burden, or migration economics.
  2. Percentile rankings are estimated by the Operator from published average values and published quantiles of the Basic Survey on Wage Structure, and may differ from the actual income distribution. Pay particular attention where the Service marks values as "estimated".
  3. The Results do not take into account the situation of any specific individual, household, company, or business, and are merely statistical or reference numbers based on typical assumptions.
  4. The User shall not rely on the Results as the basis for any decision, including career change, job search, entrepreneurship, hiring, salary negotiation, employment contracts, migration, visa application, taxation, payroll budgeting, investment, education, or remittance. When making such decisions, the User shall consult certified social insurance labor consultants, tax accountants, lawyers, administrative scriveners, recruitment agents, Hello Work, or other qualified professionals or public institutions.
  5. The Operator bears no responsibility for any consequences (including economic loss, lost opportunity, emotional distress, litigation, administrative dispositions, and similar) arising from the User's reliance on the Results.

Article 9 (Third-party services and advertisements)

  1. The Service incorporates Google Analytics 4, Google AdSense, the Frankfurter API, jpcost.keydrop.net, jpvisa.keydrop.net, OECD, and other third-party services. The Operator is not responsible for the operation, availability, content, advertisements displayed, or linked sites of these third-party services.
  2. Advertisements (Google AdSense or otherwise) displayed on the Service are delivered under the responsibility of third parties. The Operator does not control and is not responsible for ad content, transactions with advertisers, or any issues on advertiser/third-party sites accessed via ads (product/service defects, payment issues, leaks of personal information, etc.).
  3. Disputes arising between the User and advertisers or third-party site operators shall be resolved between the User and such third party.

Article 10 (Relationship with public institutions and data providers)

  1. The Service has no partnership, sponsorship, endorsement, or approval relationship with the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Statistics Bureau of Japan, e-Stat, OECD, or any other public institution or data provider.
  2. References to the names, statistical table numbers, or URLs of public institutions on the Service do not imply that the content of the Service has been officially verified by those institutions.
  3. Use of the Data is at the Operator's own discretion and in accordance with the terms and copyright policies of each data provider. If such terms or policies change in a way that affects the Service, the Operator may suspend the provision of such data without notice.

Article 11 (Intellectual property)

  1. Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the Service's source code, design, logos, original explanatory text, occupation/industry/visa-type/role classification dictionaries, English and multilingual translations, and other content created by the Operator belong to the Operator or rightful holders.
  2. Copyright in the Data sourced from public institutions belongs to the respective providers, the Government of Japan, or other rightful holders. Use of the Data via the Service is governed by each provider's terms of use.
  3. The User shall not copy, distribute, modify, or publicly transmit the Service's content beyond the scope of personal use. When citing or referencing, the User shall clearly indicate the Service's URL.

Article 12 (Personal information and cookies)

The handling of personal information, use of cookies, integration with Google Analytics and Google AdSense, and consent management under Consent Mode v2 are governed by the separately defined Privacy Policy. By using the Service, the User is deemed to have also agreed to the Privacy Policy.

Article 13 (Disclaimers)

  1. The Operator makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement of third-party rights, continuous availability, completeness of security, or any other matter with respect to the Service.
  2. The Operator is not liable for any false information, mistranslation, bugs, viruses, unauthorized access by third parties, server failures, communication disruptions, or other issues in connection with the Service.
  3. The Operator is not liable for any disputes between the User and other Users or third parties; the User shall resolve such disputes at their own risk and expense.

Article 14 (Limitation of liability)

  1. Except as otherwise required by law, the Operator's total liability to the User for damages shall in no event exceed zero (0) yen (as the Service is provided free of charge).
  2. The Operator shall not be liable for any indirect, special, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages, lost profits, data loss, business interruption, or any other derivative damages, whether foreseeable or not.
  3. The preceding provisions do not apply in cases of the Operator's willful misconduct or gross negligence; even then, the Operator's liability shall be limited to direct and ordinary damages.

Article 15 (Changes to the Terms)

  1. The Operator may modify these Terms at any time without individual notice to the User.
  2. The modified Terms take effect from the time they are posted on the Site. If the User uses the Service after such modification, the User is deemed to have agreed to the modified Terms.
  3. For material changes, the Operator will endeavor to make reasonable announcements on the Site (banner display, change-history page, etc.).

Article 16 (Governing law and jurisdiction)

  1. These Terms and all matters related to the Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
  2. Any dispute arising between the Operator and the User in connection with the Service or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.

Article 17 (Severability)

If any provision or part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable by law or court decision, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force, and the invalid or unenforceable provision shall be reasonably reinterpreted to achieve its economic purpose to the extent possible.

Article 18 (Language priority)

  1. The authoritative version of these Terms is in Japanese.
  2. Translations into English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Brazilian Portuguese, or any other language are reference translations provided for the convenience of the User.
  3. In case of any interpretive difference, mistranslation, ambiguity, or contradiction between a translation and the Japanese version, the Japanese version always prevails. The User bears responsibility for understanding the exact meaning of the Terms and may consult Japanese-proficient experts as needed.

Article 19 (Contact)

Inquiries about these Terms or the Service shall be directed to the contact information published on the Site. The Operator makes no guarantee as to obligation or timing of response.
